Building Your Course in CodeHS

In this course, educators will learn how to leverage the control CodeHS gives them to customize their courses. Teachers will begin by exploring the resources available to help them to choose the right course. They will then dive into the CodeHS tools to build, customize and add to their courses using both the CodeHS curriculum and their own teacher-created material. Auto-graders will be introduced to teachers and they will learn how to create a simple auto-graded assignment. Teachers will wrap up the course by learning how to modify existing CodeHS examples, exercises, and quizzes to make their own versions.

We will guide you through getting help in your online course, and how to access the CodeHS Knowledge Base. We will also introduce you to how you can connect with the CodeHS Educator Community. In this unit, you will learn how you can choose the right course by first establishing your course goals and exploring the CodeHS Course Catalog. You will learn how deep diving into the course overviews will help you to choose which CodeHS course to select as your starting point in building your own course. You will then be introduced to resources available on CodeHS regarding course pathways and state pathways. |

Customizing with CodeHS Content
In this unit, you will learn how to customize your course with CodeHS content. You will learn how to recorder and remove content. You will also learn how to add supplementary material specific to your course. You will also learn how to add material from any CodeHS course. |

Customizing Existing CodeHS Content
In this unit, you will learn how to customize CodeHS content. You are free to take our content as a starting point and make it yours! You will learn how to modify examples, exercises and quizzes to make them your own. |

Customizing by Creating Your Own Conte
In this unit, you will learn how to customize your course by adding your own content. You will learn how to create Modules, Lessons, and all the different types of Activities that can be created through the CodeHS create tool. This unit will conclude with a quick introduction to auto-graders. |

n this module, we will wrap up the course through a final reflection, workshop survey and certificate of completion. |
